Before Substack: 2014 - 2019
The links that I would still share today.
👋 Ciao, I'm Giulia Blocal, your street art insider. Welcome to a ✨ special edition ✨ of Beyond the Walls, a monthly deep dive into street art, graffiti, off-the-beaten-path travel, and a bit of my life in between.
While the newsletter on the 1st of every month will always remain free for everyone, I’ve started writing these occasional paywalled editions as a way to thank those of you who help keep this space alive and open to all.
In this *special edition* I’m sharing a curated selection of links from the newsletter archive spanning 2014 to 2019.
Enjoy — and see you in your inbox on April 1st with the regular edition of this newsletter.
Giulia
This week I closed my Mailchimp account and, before letting it go for good, I found myself wandering through the archive one last time, rereading the monthly newsletters I sent between 2014 and 2019. (In 2020 I moved to Substack and the format changed completely).
Back then, I used to share with you many more links, not only about street art but also films, TV shows, essays, music, stand-up comedy, and all sorts of discoveries that had caught my attention during the month. Closing the account meant that all of that material would disappear, so I decided to copy it here. Not every single link, there were simply too many, but I selected them with this question in mind: would I still share this today?
Because I want this post to work as a small archive, I have organised the links into sections, from films and TV shows to YouTube channels, stand-up comedy, podcasts, songs, articles, and books, so that you can browse them freely and follow your own path through the list.
I hope you will find something here that still resonates with you and perhaps opens a new thread of curiosity. 😊
