They are old graffiti buddies of mine from NY. The work they put in to develop this footprint has been an amazing journey to see grow. Its a great place to visit and get historical context to graffiti community. Enjoy!
I respect Roger and the work he does, and I'm sure the Museum of Graffiti is amazing. Can't wait to visit one day! I worked for several years at Amsterdam's STRAAT Museum, and we had his museum as a benchmark while imagining the museum in Amsterdam, it's such an amazing project. it would be super cool to have my books on sale there! :-)
As for Wynwood Walls, I'm very curious to see it with my own eyes, because I have mixed feeling about it, especially because it's an operation managed by real estates. I'm diving into it a bit in Sunday's newsletter, there are some aspects I'm critical about, but that has nothing to do with the museum, the museum is cool and Roger has always been very authentic, at least this is the impression he gives, we never met in person...
This fantastic to see you are traveling and capturing the global creative community! Love the amazing efforts made to paint sides of buildings. I know from my past scale is always greater appreciated up close. Big shout outs to INO and those who have the courage to take on this feat! 👏🏽👨🏽🎨 I look forward to seeing more of your travels on Substack! Bravo!
Uh yes, INO is such a legend! The crew he represents has made the history of Athens' graffiti, and as a muralist he is super cool (and very appreciated by everybody). On top of all that, he works on ropes (like Spiderman! haha!), so way more talented!
Thanks for the loop back through Athens. My wife and I had a fun street art scavenger hunt there a few years ago using your awesome guide to fill our day in between bites and beers at the rooftop bars that pepper the city.
You gotta check out Museum of Graffiti in Wynwood Florida! Great spot!
I'd love to go to Wynwood one day! In december, during the festival :-D
